Each month there are 4 Class Meetings for each of the Series below - Beginners should try to be at the 1st monthly Class Meeting for any series they choose. Many singles come without partners. If you come with a partner, we don't make you change partners.
Sundays 7:30-8:15pm - Popular “Social Dances” (for Wedding Receptions, Dinner Dances, etc) - Waltz, Foxtrot, and sometimes Tango
Wednesdays 7:30-8:15pm - Swing Dancing on 1st & 2nd Wednesdays - Latin Dances on 3rd & 4th Wednesdays.
Fridays 7:30-8:15pm - Class is “Instructor’s Choice” similar to one of above or Latin or Swing Dancing. Fridays 8:15-9:00pm - Practice Session. Customary dress for Parties is “smart casual” or better. Bring a partner! This is Good “Date Night” Fun
Shoes & Clothes - Dance shoees are not necessary. Choose shoes that are comfortable and stay securely in place. Dancers turn and slide their feet some so high traction shoes are not best. Many people don’t have shoes with leather soles but if you have shoes with leather soles they are ideal. Wear comfortable casual clothes to Classes. "Smart Casual" dress is recommended for Parties.
These classes are suitable for beginners and many topics benefit experienced dancers. Bring a partner. Partners who come together are not forced to dance with others. See below for more about our Classes.
More about M & F Classes
The Instructor assesses the interests and capabilities of the students present and chooses one of the dances specified for the Class period. Each Class begins with a review of the basic rhythms and movements of a dance. Beginners will find this a bit challenging and experienced dancers can learn details that will improve their style and the enjoyment of their dancing and partnering.
Next the instructor presents a few of the most popular figures (steps) of the dance. It usually takes beginners several classes to become comfortable with the essential dance skills and most popular figures. Each time these topics are presented, students make new discoveries that improve their dancing and partnering skills. Much repetition helps to develop good dance skills and confidence about leading and following successfully. Really good dancers practice basic figures very frequently to become conditioned to perform movements that are most stylish.
Later in each Class the instructor introduces some more advanced figures. These figures are upgrades and embellishments of the earlier figures and beginners may find them too difficult and be content to continue to work on the previous figures a while longer.
Students who learn the figures and movements taught in these Classes should contact the Manager about other sessions for advanced students..
More details are on the pages for each Monday and Friday Class.
Q) The class I want doesn't fit my schedule, or I don't see the class I want being offered. How can I learn what I want at low cost?
(A) Get some friends or colleagues together and arrange a "Private Group Lesson". Example: a group of 4 sharing a Private Lesson or Private Lesson Package would incur an individual cost of $15 each (or less) and get an hour of customized instruction. This is very often a better value than waiting for a class to start and paying $7-$15 each to be in a group of 20 students. Private Lessons can be scheduled to start between 10am and 10pm seven days a week. To make convenient arrangements send a message to
